Escarlata comes from a long-established stud farm in Extremadura. For generations, they have been dedicated to breeding bulls and bullfighting horses. PREs have always been crossed with Arabians, Anglo-Arabians or Thoroughbreds to bring more temperament and speed into the horses. When the son took over the stud farm, the management was also changed. Today, purebred PRE are bred there and Cruzados, like the pretty Escarlata, are great horses for Doma Vaquera and Working Equitation.

Escarlata’s sire is a 1.68 chestnut stallion by Yeguada Militar. He is an Anglo-Arabian with papers from France. He is a super all-rounder who can jump competitively, but also has great movement for dressage. We are happy to show videos of Escarlata’s sire and half-brother to interested parties. Her dam is a very baroque PRE grey mare from Centurion Stud. Centurion successfully breeds strong moving PRE for dressage. Centurion horses can be found successfully all over the world and also compete successfully every year at the World Championships in Seville, the SICAB.

Escarlata turned 3 years old in February. She has recently been broken in and is doing great. Free mounting is possible and she behaves as if she has been under saddle for weeks. The mare has a nice size and will certainly reach a height of about 1.64 metres. We see Escarlata as a great all-rounder with good size, a horse for every discipline. Like every Spaniard, or in this case half Spaniard, she is late maturing and will not have fully developed her baroque appearance until she is 5 to 7 years old. She has great movements and is certainly suitable as an all-rounder for riding, dressage, jumping and working equitation.

A super mare with a great future!
